“Finding Mirriam”, is a completed full-length POV documentary detailing my slave ancestry in former chattel slave-owning East Texas.

“Finding Mirriam”  is set in Harrison county, an East Texas county that was once home to more than 1,700 chattel slave owners with a chattel slave population of nearly 52% at its peak.

I  traveled throughout this region along with East and West Africa  in search of my ancestors' roots, searching for answers as to what life looked like for them as a chattel slave.
